Angelic Journeys: Article - "Our Future Is Bright"
OUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT by Maryellen De Vine (published in the Universal Church of the Master magazine, April 2005)
The children of today seem to be different from the children of previous generations. While these kids are busy being kids, we can look beneath the surface and see their wise souls. Whether they wear the label of "Indigo", "Crystal", "Rainbow", or "Star" children, they are all here to usher in a new type of world for us to live in. They are here with a Divine purpose. Yet, many of these children (whether they are two years old or 20 years old) are struggling. Its as if they are angels trying to get comfortable in their new human bodies and in our world of dense energy. Our job as adults is to support, guide and love them so that they can do what they came here to do.
Many of our children are showing signs of incredible spiritual gifts, such as seeing angels, healing abilities, psychic abilities, and a deep connection to nature. However, they are also very sensitive to various "negative" energies, which may come from school, home or the planet. Many have been labeled as having ADD/ADHD. A typical attribute of the older, "Indigo" kids is a "fire in their belly" and a warrior spirit. They need this type of spirit in order to make changes to current systems that don't work anymore or are out of integrity. We must help them learn to properly channel their energy and their anger. Rather than succumbing to the pressures to medicate their children with Ritalin, parents can look into other factors that could be affecting their child's behavior. (A helpful book on this subject is "The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children" by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.)
Some children choose to conceal or shut down their spiritual side to fit in or to conform due to adults' expectations and/or fears.
Many of the very young children today are being diagnosed as having autism. One typical attribute of "Crystal" children is that they are telepathic and therefore are starting to speak verbally later than the norm.
Our children have beautiful hearts. Just look into their eyes. Do you see the wisdom in them? Look at the kids who are angry. Look inside them. Are they angry because they have been hurt? Misunderstood? Tired of seeing the world in the state it is in? We must pave the way for our young ones. We must support and nurture their spiritual nature.
Many of us have felt the need to help our children as part of our life purpose. Although not everyone's life mission involves working with the children, everyone can hold the vision of our young ones flourishing and living the lives they are meant to live. We can all send Love to our children, wrapping them in the wings of their angels. We can pray for and visualize their school and home environments filled with Light and Love.
I am one who has felt the nudge from my own angels to do what I can to help our children. My goal is to let kids know that it's OK to have spiritual gifts and to teach them about spiritual tools. I am doing this by writing children's books.
I was originally inspired to start writing for children a couple of years ago after my youngest son and I had taken a walk one day. He walked over to a tree and leaned against it. He called me over and said "Mom, I feel this tree's heart; I feel it's love." A couple of days later Spirit whispered in my ear and I had an "Aha!" moment. I realized that I had to write this into a story for children. Soon after, I took him to Hakone Gardens (a Japanese garden in Saratoga, California). I wondered if he would feel a spiritual connection in those gardens like I do. When we first went into the gardens he started darting here and there and didn't really stay in one place for more than a second! Oh well, I thought, he's just being a kid and having fun here. He started running from one trail to the next. Suddenly, he said "Oh Mom, this is so wonderful! I feel God and the angels here!" Yes, he truly did feel the connection!
I like to encourage and foster my three boys' spiritual connection where I can. When they get scared at night, I remind them to call on their angels. When my youngest son and I have been alone with a tree, I have asked him to close his eyes, listen with his heart, and see if that tree has a message for him. One tree's message to him was "You stole my heart." He asked me what in the world that meant and I told him that the tree was telling him that it loved him. This made him smile.
I want to encourage other children to find and/or keep their spiritual connection through my book writing. Here are a few books that I am currently working on: - a picture book about a child who calls on the angels for courage when he's scared at night - a young person's guide to the Angels and Archangels - a picture book about a child's strong connection to nature
Perhaps YOU may choose to help our young ones. Perhaps it will be in a big way or perhaps in a small way. A simple smile or a hello can truly let kids know that people do care about them. These kids are our future leaders. Let's help them usher in a world where Love and Peace abound. They are our hope!
